A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 702 Elizabeth Street, Waycross, Ga 31501 or Butler United Methodist Church, 300 East Main Street, Butler, GA 31006.
Mr. Burnett was born in Griffin, GA to the late John Colvin and Kitty Ruth Nolan Burnett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary Hendley Burnett.
He was a retired Municipal Utilities director and served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Mr. Burnett was a member of Butler United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his children, Joseph (Linda) Burnett of Warner Robins, Lisa (David) Reddish of Butler; grandchildren, Jody Burnett(Emily), Beth(Rick) Bevels, Rachael Daugherty, Tee (Katie) Reddish; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
