Charles Michael “Mike” King, 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, October 12, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Steffen officiating. Entombment will be private. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Mike was born in Macon, Georgia to Peggy Souther King and the late Charles R. King. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic and served in the United States Air Force. Mike was a member of Isle of Palms Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed doing yardwork, and had a love for animals and the UGA Bulldawgs.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 48 years, Elaine Howard King; sons, Chad King and Jason (Bridget) King of Mount Pleasant, SC; siblings, Carol (Robert) Collins and Denise (Kirby) Maples; and several nieces and nephews.
