Charles Eugene Langford, Sr. -MACON - Charles Eugene Langford, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Saturday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Milton Bethune and Rev. James Paul will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Mr. Langford was born in Macon and was a retired pipe fitter having worked at R.A.F.B. He was a member of Gospel Tabernacle in Byron, a member of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, a member of N.R.A. and was an avid race car driver and welder. Mr. Langford was the son of the late William Carlton Langford and Ella Mae Edwards Langford.
Mr. Langford is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maryann Langford; children, Renee Sullivan (Michael) of Macon and Chuck Langford of Culloden; grandchildren, Jonathan Langford (Melissa) of Macon, Timothy Langford of Crawford County, Matthew Langford of Crawford County, Laura Langford of Crawford County, Amber Mason (Steven) of Centerville and Ashley Russitano (Anthony) of Rincon, GA; great-granddaughter, Harley Langford of Macon; great-grandson, Caleb Langford of Crawford County; sister, Colleen Yarbrough of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
