Charles Reed Morgan passed on July 26, 2026, at the age of 72, and was a resident of Lizella, Georgia. Visitation will be held at Snow's Funerals & Cremations at Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia 31204, on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held for family only at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with Brian DeBary officiating.
Reed was a retired machinist for the Rock Tenn Paper Company and was a member of Lizella Methodist Church. He was a lung transplant recipient and also active within the Emory Transplant Support Group.
Reed loved fishing, gardening, piddling, music, the outdoors, the beach, feeding his deer, and enjoyed sitting by the fire. He was a loving, active "Poppy" to his grandchildren.
Reed is survived by his wife of 28 years, Catherine Morgan; children, Sommer Morgan Schewe (Brent), Stacy Jackson, Teri Miller (Nate), and Jessica Howell (John Michael) ; 12 grandchildren, Emilee Lanford, Ryan Jackson, Bailey Jackson, Wesley Miller, Addison Miller, Brax Miller, John Wheeler Howell, Stone Howell, Ruthie Howell, Belle Howell, Rebecca Howell, and David Howell; twin sister, Tamara Morgan Griffin (Henry); a number of nieces & nephews; beloved mother in law, Ann Clark.

The Mason House offers comfortable accommodations for transplant patients and their families and was a blessing to Reed and Cathy after his lung transplant in 2022.
