Charles "Buddy" Otha O'Brien

Charles Otha O’Brien, 73, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bowker officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the service at the funeral home.

Born June 26, 1944 in Macon, he was the son of the late Charles Hadden Spurgeon and Norma Elizabeth (Britt) O’Brien. Buddy, as he was known to his friends and family, was a Christian and a member of Berean Baptist Church in Macon. He also served in the United States Air Force.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marilyn (Hall) O’Brien; four children, Shari (Robbie) Middlebrooks, Michael (Jeanene) O’Brien, Elizabeth (Tracy) Sullens, and Patrick (Emily) O’Brien; twelve grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kyler, Kerigan, Camryn, Courtney, Brooke, Autumn, Judah, Levi, Ethan, Emma and Norah; and siblings, Kathleen Weaver, Shirley (Jimmy) Lester, Dennis (Pam) O’Brien, David (Lisa) O’Brien, James O’Brien and Penny (Don) Sullivan.
