Mr. Owens was born September 27, 1946, in Macon to the late Pensin Owens and Aline Giddens Owens. He was a carpenter by trade and was an accomplished drag racer. He also enjoyed playing golf. Mr. Owens was of the baptist faith and was preceded in death by his sons: Charles Owens, Jr. and Ronnie Owens.
Mr. Owens is survived by his daughter: Jewellene McIntyre; former spouse: Billie Jo Owens; grandchildren: Roger Cothren, Nicholas Cothren, Ronnie Owens, Miranda Owens and Walter Charles Owens; great-grandchildren: Olivia Clarey, Max McIntyre and Laney Cothren.
