Charles Melbram Sears, age 93, was taken by his Guardian Angel's hand on October 30, 2023, to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior. He was a kindhearted, loving husband to his wife Jimmie for 67 years.
Charles was born on September 25, 1930, in Wheeler County, Georgia, to Velma and Eddie Sears. He attended Shiloh School in Wheeler County and then served two different occasions in the army. Upon discharge, Charles had several jobs before finally settling in at Georgia Kraft, now known as Graphics Packaging International, where he dedicated himself for 43 years.
Charles was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting and doing anything in his yard so that he could be outside with nature. He especially loved his hummingbirds which looked like the Atlanta Airport because he had so many.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Velma and Eddie, three brothers, one sister and a son. He is surviving by his soulmate, Jimmie, a sister-in-law, one son, one daughter and many friends.
Services will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023, in the chapel of Snow's at Macon Memorial Park with Rev. Kim Washburn and Rev. Grady Mimbs officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
While his wife and friends are mourning the loss of Charles, others are rejoicing to meet him in Heaven. We will miss his beautiful blue eyes, his kind heartedness and his "not always funny jokes." His life was a blessing to everyone who knew him and now his memory will be treasured. Only time can take away grief; so grief is the price we pay for love and Charles and jimmie had a very powerful and long love.
His wife may be contacted at the residence at 118 Taylor Road in Gray.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjudes.org.
