

Charles “Harold” Teel, 70 passed away in Navicent Medical Center in Macon, Georgia on July 6, 2016 after a lengthy illness. A time of visitation will be held in the parlor of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, from 6 PM – 8 PM on Friday, July 8th followed by a celebration of life service at Tabernacle Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 9th officiated by Rev. Robbie Jones and Rev. Ron Feener. A brief graveside service will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the home residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Tabernacle Baptist Church at 6611 Zebulon Rd, Macon, GA 31210.
Born in the city of Macon, Georgia on June 4, 1946 to Charles Harden Teel and Beatrice Miller Teel, Harold was a 1964 graduate of Lanier High School and a 1970 Georgia Tech graduate. He worked as an industrial engineer for Bibb Co. followed by a career with Metropolitan Life and as a Middle School teacher at Rutland Middle School. Following retirement in 2014, he continued his teaching career as a math professor at Virginia College in Macon. Harold loved to coach and be involved in sports and did so with children in midget football as well as various other sports in schools and churches throughout middle Georgia for many years.
He is predeceased by his father, Charles Harden Teel, and his mother, Beatrice Miller Teel.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Christine Teel, brothers Larry Teel and Randy Teel and sister Melanie Bryan (Mike), and brother-in-law Steve (Heidi) Rickert. Other survivors include his nieces and nephews Heather Bryan, Holly Black (Cory), Michael Bryan (Ellyn), Cheryl Hammond (Chris), and Bryan Rickert (Michelle). He also had many great- nieces and nephews including Banks Black, Gwenyth Black, Julia Black, James Bryan, Tyler Lake, Payton Hammond, Gideon Rickert, Gabriel Rickert, and Nathaniel Rickert.
Harold was a long standing member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed both playing and coaching church sports for many years.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Teel, Mike Bryan, Michael Bryan, David Tucker, Malcolm Lane and Gary Farmer.
