Christine "Chris" Carter went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 8, 2021. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, led by Reverend Randall Mimbs and Rev. Robby Kerr. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Face coverings and social distancing are required.
Chris was born in Tarrytown, Georgia, to the late Callaway and Elli-Ree Powell Corley. She was a member of Bloomfield Gardens Baptist Church and worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. Mrs. Carter loved her family, God, and Clay's famous cold margaritas.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Tanner, and her husband, Charles F. Carter, in December of 2020.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jami Carter Smith (Clayton); sons, Eddie and Ricky Rowland; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; sister, Eloise Marchman; sister in law, Ruth Dominy of Grayson, GA; several nieces and nephews.
