

MACON – Clarence Solomon Mize, Jr. passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with graveside services for the family to be held immediately following. Dr. Tripp Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mize was born April 18, 1923 in Macon to the late Clarence S. Mize, Sr. and Bessie Smallwood Mize. He was an active member of Vineville Baptist Church for fifty-five years. Following Military service during World War II, he worked at Robins Air Force Base for thirty-seven years and retired in 1978 as an Electrical Quality Control Specialist. Mr. Mize was member emeritus of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Holder Mize and his sister, Dorothy Mize Madden.
Mr. Mize is survived by his children, Clarence S. Mize, III, Charles H. Mize (Natalie), Carla M. Wilbourn (Wade); grandchildren, Jason C. Mize of Atlanta, Lindsay A. Mize of Tampa, FL, Eric J. Mize (Laci) of Warner Robins, Ashley Mize Alderman (Brandon) of Atlanta and Seth S. Wilbourn of Macon; great grandchildren, Tyler M. Bayne, Jaelin G. Mize, and Max J. Mize.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Vineville Baptist Church.
