MACON - Clifford Tuttle, Jr., 91, died Sunday, December 18, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Rev. Bowker will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m., to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Berean Baptist Church (Youth Fund), 5151 Columbus Road, Macon 31206 or to your favorite charity.
Mr. Tuttle was born May 8, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts to Clifford and Julia Tuttle. He served his country in the Army during World War II receiving the Purple Heart and numerous other medals. He retired from the Naval Reserve after twenty-five years of service and also retired from the city of Atlanta as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Tuttle was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Edith Griffin Tuttle; brothers-in-law, Richard (Virginia) Griffin of Gray, John Ed (Barbara) Griffin of Sparta, Jesse (Gloria) Griffin of Milledgeville, Harold (Brenda) Griffin of Byron, sister-in-law, Joyce Hendley of Macon and nieces and nephews.
