

Clyde Eugene Rogers, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Steffen officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday night from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church, 500 Bass Road, Macon, 31210.
Mr. Rogers was born in Chatsworth, Georgia to the late John and Alice Hawkins Rogers and was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Batchelor Rogers; daughter, Jean Conner; three brothers and a sister. He served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Rogers worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant and he retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church, the Nan Freeman Sunday School Class, and Howard Community Club. Mr. Rogers also enjoyed gardening. His yard was the envy of everyone.
Survivors include his children, Patricia (Herb) Clason, Kathy (John) Rowlands, Gene (Joyce) Rogers and Ronnie (Sue) Rogers; grandchildren, Ken Taylor, Drew Cook, Mandy (John) Morsek, Jason Mize, Eric (Shannon Riggleman) Mize, Tammy (Matt) Rogers-McGriff and Mick (Betsy) Rogers; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition, he was blessed with many true and faithful friends.
