Craig Kendrick Rathel, 59, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 03, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Windsor Hotel, 125 W. Lamar Street, Americus, GA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Magnolia Manor, Good Samaritan Fund, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus GA 31709.
Craig was born in Charlotte, NC to the late Cecil D. Rathel and Hazel H. Rathel. He was a graduate of the class of 1972, Americus High School and attended Mars Hill College and received an Associate of Science from Georgia Southwestern College and was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church. He worked with AT&T and RCN Corp. and Craig was employed from 2001 with Walgreens in the District Training Division and was currently the manager of the Walgreens Store in Perry, Georgia. He was involved with the Relay for Life and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
He is survived by those who loved him most, mother, Hazel H. Rathel of Americus, sister, Anne (Terry) Adams of Atlanta, brother, Robert Cecil Rathel of Andersonville, nephew, Brent Adams of Atlanta, and Kelli (Daniel) Williamson of Macon and his extended family Walgreens employees.
