Danny Floyd Thomas, 77, of Byron, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 3. 2026. Funeral Services will held Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in Lizella Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the church. Reverend Chris Minton will officiate.
Born in Macon, he was the son of the late James E. “Bill” Thomas and Helen Floyd Thomas. He was preceded in death by a brother, James E. “Billy” Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a retired Sergeant with the Macon Police Department with 25 years of service. He was a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia and the Fraternal Order of Police, WL Sparky O’Cain Lodge #3. He also served as a mason with Masonic Lodge #5 in Macon and was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vikki Bird Thomas; children, Chris Thomas (Lisa), and Marc Thomas. Grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Rachel, Noah, and Liam Thomas; Siblings, Dawn Lokey (David) and Frankie Meeks (Johnny). Several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the donors favorite charity.
Snows at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
