Mr. Howell was a native of Laurens County, GA, but spent most of his life in Macon before moving to Lizella. He spent 2 years in the U.S. Army and was retired from Kmart, where he was an Assistant Manager. He was a longtime member of Log Cabin Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was recently a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church. He was a loving, patient, and giving man who will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on Monday, May 18 at 2:00 at Macon Memorial Park Chapel, with Dr. Ron Crump and Rev. Glenn Haskins officiating. The family will greet friends 1 hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Care Options, who so lovingly cared for Don.
Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Thelma Howell, and his brother, T.L. Howell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Wayne; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Rick Reed; granddaughters Kristen (Anthony) Whitworth and Kyla Reed; great-granddaughter, Avonlea Whitworth; brother, William Howell; sisters Gerry Sapp and Jill Bracewell.
