Donald W. Knight, 76, passed away November 11, 2010 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday November 14, 2010 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs will officiate.
Mr. Knight was born in Laurens County, GA to the late James Alfred Knight and Janette Burney Knight. He was preceded in death by a son Dale T. Knight and a brother Robert F. Knight. He was retired from Riverwood International, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Knight truly enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Pointe Hospice for their care during his time of illness.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Joanne Tarpley Knight of Macon; son, Anthony (Teresa) Knight; two grandsons, Christopher Knight and Eric Knight (Kayela); great grandson, Kraegan Knight; brother, Eldridge (Vera) Knight, Burney (Sandra) Knight; sister, Jane (Billy) Alligood; sister-in-law, Myrtle Knight; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends starting at 2pm until service time.
