

Donald was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Harry and Evelyn Ninekirk.
Donald served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Sierra in the 1960’s. In his last few years, Donald proudly wore his Navy hat everywhere and was thanked by many strangers for his service, and was even hugged a time or two. He was proud to have served his country.
He was employed by Brown & Williamson for over 30 years in Kentucky and Macon, Georgia before he retired to Florida in 1998.
Donald was a 32* Mason in the Shively, Kentucky Chapter and the Macon, Georgia Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
While living in Macon, he was a motorcycle enthusiast and was an active member of the Macon Hog Chapter. He was also always honored to ride as Santa Claus in the toy run parades.
Upon moving to North Port, Florida in 1998, Donald became an active member of his community by serving on the Board of Directors for 8 years at the Harbor Isles Association.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Peggy Bartlett Ninekirk; his sister, Linda G. Ninekirk; two daughters, Cynthia West and Linda Sue Ninekirk; two step children, Cathy Thomas and John T. Smith; as well as numerous grandchildren.
Donald has and always will hold a special place in everyone’s hearts he touched. May he Rest in Peace. Forever loved and missed.
