Doris Estelle McGovern Boone, 78, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 surrounded by her family. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplin Stephen Keith officiating.
Doris was born in Tampa, FL to the late Thomas Jefferson and Maude Conley McGovern. She grew up in Broxton, Georgia most of her life before moving to Macon. She was a homemaker and attended the Baptist faith. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her husband; Charles Boone Jr., sons; Charles Anthony “Andy” (Joni) Boone and Dr. Daniel (Shannon) Boone, five grandchildren; Ashlee, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Addison, Liam Boone, three sisters; Lola Music, Joyce Austin and Lucy (James) Jones and several nieces and nephews.
