Edna Elaine Thompson, 89, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Brad Marchman officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Saturday afternoon from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home and also an hour prior to the service on Monday.
Edna was born in Taylor County, Georgia to the late Herman and Mary Lou Street Loyd and was preceded in death by her husband, Otis M. Thompson. Also preceding her on her journey to Heaven are her siblings, Rudolph, Robert Lee, Bobby and Harold Loyd, Linda Beall and Dot Cranford. Edna was retired from Federals Department Store in Detroit, Michigan and previously was a telephone operator with Southern Bell in Macon. She was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel music and doing food demonstrations.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Williams; son; Ronald Thompson; grandchildren, Rachel (James), Erin (Kyle), Marianne, Sharon and Craig; great grandchildren, Austin, Megan, Aidan and Justin; sister, Betty Harris; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
