MACON – E. J. “Jimmy” Cannon, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Cannon, son of the late James Lyndon and Elizabeth Rowland Cannon, was born in Chester and served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was in auto body repair with Five Star Dodge. Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by his son, Jason Cannon and by his brother, Tommy Cannon.
Survivors include his devoted wife of forty-three years, Rachel V. Cannon of Macon; his children, Julie Cannon of Macon, Jerry (Janice) Cannon of Eastman and Jeff (Jennifer) Cannon of Temple; his grandchildren, Chandler Yats of Macon, Anna Cannon of-Buchanan, Katrina Cannon, Cole Cannon, Jessie Cannon and Gracie Cannon, all of Temple; three great grandchildren; his sisters, Mildred West of Dearborn Heights, MI and Jean (Ken) Elliott of Cartersville; his aunt, Opal Rowland of Chester and several nieces, nephews, and cousins
