Elizabeth Carr Laney died peacefully November 24, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia after an extended illness. Elizabeth was born in Rochelle, Georgia and lived in Macon for most of her life. She was a faithful member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Elizabeth was the last surviving child of Jimmy M. Carr and the late Mary Jane Taylor Carr of Chester, Georgia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Howard F. Laney and sisters Ruby Rogers, Ida Lou Parish, Winifred Floyd, Jeanette Durand, Dorothy Myers, Rosalyn Shepard and Yvonne Davis, as well as brothers Gene Carr and Roger Carr.
Known throughout her life for her grace and sense of style, Elizabeth also had a generous and loving heart. She treasured her roles as daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by family and friends.
Surviving are nieces, nephews and her dear friend and caregiver Deborah Walker.
No public service will be held.
Remembrances in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
