

Macon, GA- Elizabeth D. Wood, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 24, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Centenary United Methodist Church with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Wills and the Rev. Helen Willoughby and the Rev. Joy Wilson will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time on Thursday at the church. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Centenary United Methodist Church, 1290 College Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to the League of Good Samaritans at Magnolia Manor, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709.
Mrs. Wood, wife of the late Julian Hamilton Wood, was a native of Macon and the daughter of the late Battie G. Donaldson and Carmine Weaks Donaldson. She had worked at Sears and Davison's and was retired from J. C. Penney. Mrs. Wood was a member and past president of the American Business Women's Association. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member of the Sunday School, the United Methodist Women and was active in the life of her church. Mrs. Wood was a loyal volunteer at East Macon Outreach Food Bank. She was the sister of the late C. H. Donaldson and Newton J. Donaldson.
Her greatest love was her family and she was a devoted homemaker and she is survived by those she loved most, her sons, Ansel Joel Spearman, Jr. (Etta) of Gray and George (Bubba) Wood of Macon; her daughter, Carmine W. Wills (Ronnie) of Thomasville, GA; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Frances Asbell of Macon and several nieces and nephews.
