Ernie did so many kind things for a lot of people. He gave me part time work whenever I needed it and when my Dad passed away and I was out of town that week, he paid me anyway. You’re a legend Ernie! You will be missed. Thoughts & Prayers to the family.

Ernie, working for you taught me so much. I learned what I wanted to look for from a future employer--a place where relationships are so close that they feel like family. (I found it). I truly grew up in your presence--started dating my future husband, had my first son, and I found friendships that are meaningful to this day. You were tough on us when you needed to be, but you also let us be crazy kids--letting us use the limo for parties and celebrations as well as letting us tan by your pool at the lake on the weekends. Some of my best memories are either at Whiskey River or with the people I met there. You will be missed.

We are saddened to learn of Ernie's passing. We go back over 50 years to Burger King days before Whiskey River was even an idea. He will surely be missed as a good and faithful friend through these many years. Our sympathies and love to all the family.

Ernie was always a very kind and generous man. My sister was married to one of his brothers for many years so I became a part of the family at a young age for many years.
When one of my brothers passed away in 2011 he opened his heart and made it possible for him to have an honorable memorial service. I will always be thankful for his passion for others, and his respect for the people he loved. My sincere condolences to family and friends. He was a very good man and will be missed by many.

So Sorry to hear about Ernie passing, I've known Ernie since the mid 80's and I've worked for him many times. Taught dance lessons at the old Whiskey River and helped build the new Whiskey River and also worked as a bouncer for about 7years. Ken, Pam, Kenny Jr and Bobby just know that we're Praying for Your Family and if Yall ever need us we're here for Yall! Kirk and Sylvia Rogers

I’ve known Ernie for over 20 years. I worked for him, as did my husband for a very long time. He was more than a boss. He was a dear beloved friend. Whiskey River was like a family to so many of us. He will be so very missed. His family is in our prayers. Godspeed my friend. We love you.
