A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jessica Oravec and Rev. Andy Oxford officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Judy was born in Wrightsville, Georgia, to the late Ralph E. and Doris Joiner Wood. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton Wesley Rose, and her two brothers, Wendell Wood and Ralph Wade Wood.
A woman of strong faith and a loving heart, Judy was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She dedicated more than fifty years of service to the county, retiring from the State Court Probation Office. Her many years of commitment reflected her strong work ethic and dedication to serving others.
Above all, Judy cherished her family. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joys were found in the love of her family and the special memories they shared. She will be remembered for her faith, her love for those around her, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord.
Judy is survived by her children, Rick (Paula) Rose of Navarre, Florida; Diane (Eric) Wilkes of Forsyth; and Amy (Scott) Brantley of Kathleen; her sister, Connie Ward; her grandchildren, Melissa Norckauer, Brandon Bryan, Rev. Jessica Oravec, Katie Gates, and Rusty Cash; ten great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7015 Rivoli Road, Macon, GA 31210, or Brightmoor Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210.
Judy's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and love. While her presence will be greatly missed, the memories she leaves behind and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
