MACON – Gary Floyd Evans, 61, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 2, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until service time at the church. Burial will be private. Dr. Derek McAleer will officiate. Mr. Evans was born in Macon, attended Georgia Tech as a physics major, and had lived here his entire life. He was a professional photographer and then later worked as a senior engineer for TRW and SSAI. Mr. Evans was a long time member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and was the son of the late Frank Ernest Evans.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Connie Evans of Spring Hill, TN; mother, Lucille Jones of Macon; children, Kristie (Steve) Stricker of Mt. Olive, AL, Kelly (Todd) Lusk of Spring Hill, TN; grandchildren, Stephen, Trent and Thomas Stricker, and Claire and Anne-Marie Lusk; sisters, Peggy Lindsey and Cheryl Dalton of Macon; several nieces & nephews; and beloved dogs, Happy & Roxie.
