George P. Cox

Mr. George Cox, 90, of Macon, Georgia went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2010. He died at the Medical Center of Central GA after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 5, 2010 at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Cox was born February 23, 1920 in Glascow, Scotland and immigrated to America at the age of 9 with his family. At the age of 17, he joined the Army Air Corp & retired as a Colonel with 32 years of distinguished service. He was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his soul mate & wife of 40 years, Claudia Jean Davidson Cox; his first wife, Louise Cox; a son, David Cossie Peterson; and a sister, Mary Crawford.

Survivors include sons, Bruce Cox (Stephanie) of Tampa Fl; Deane Peterson (Cindy) of Austell, GA; daughters, Debra Lea Cox, Linda Vickery, Donna Yates all of Tampa, FL; Paula Peterson Gardner of Conway, SC.; eleven grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother, Samuel Hugh Cox of Dayton, OH, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
