Georgia Edna Earl Poss Tidwell, 91, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Graham and Elder Gary Hall will officiate. The family will greet friends from 2:00 until service time at the funeral home the afternoon of the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon 31201 or the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
Mrs. Tidwell was born in Richmond County, Georgia the daughter of the late Georgia Lee Poss and Lorenzo Dow Poss. She was the widow of Charles Vernon Tidwell and was preceded in death by her daughters, Nancy Spence and Sandra Deason. Mrs. Tidwell was a homemaker and a member of New Providence Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tidwell is survived by her children, Vernon (Sara Ann) Tidwell of Gray, Charlie (Chris) Tidwell of Covington, Steve Tidwell of Eatonton, Mary Wood of Macon, Gloria Tidwell of Irwinton, and Pamela Thompson of Irwinton; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
