

Gerald Broxton, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. The family will meet friends on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, Building Fund, 5925 Price Road, Macon GA 31210.
Mr. Broxton was born in Dooly, County to the late Herschel and Eloise Broxton. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, son, Lonnie Richard Broxton and his brother, Reginald Broxton. He served in the United States Navy, during World War II and was retired from ATT. He was a former member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church and was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Ruth E. Broxton of Macon, son, Jerry (Torri) Broxton of Macon, granddaughter; Ginger B. (Jonathan) Fisher of Byron, two great grandchildren; Anna Marie and Abbigail Fisher of Bryon, and several nieces and nephews and special caregiver; Sharon Redding.
