

Geraldine (Gerry) Proctor Hooker Baggett passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Vero Beach, Florida. A visitation and graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 beginning at 10 a.m. at Snow’s Funeral and Cremation at Macon Memorial Park.
Mrs. Baggett was born November 10th, 1934 in Lineville, Clay County, Alabama to Robert Edward Proctor and Bessie Riley Proctor. Her family moved from Lineville, Alabama to Macon in 1936 and she resided in Macon most of her life. She attended Charles H. Bruce Elementary School, Lanier High School for Girls and A.L. Miller Senior High School for girls graduating in June 1952.
On June 28, 1953, she married Henry C. Hooker, Jr. who passed away May 2, 1996. She married Harold Vinson Baggett on November 25, 2000 and moved to Cairo, Georgia enjoying 20 years of trips, family gatherings during holidays and their Boston Terrier, Kaci. Harold passed away November 23, 2020.
Gerry was Administrative Secretary and Office Assistant to the Director, Staffing Service Center in Macon, retiring after 35 years of federal service. Previous federal service was with Robins Air Force Base, Social Security Administration, Macon, GA. and USDA, Southeastern Fruit and Tree Nut Research Laboratory, Byron, GA. Macon in 1955.
Mrs. Baggett was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church. And a member of the Woman’s Club of Cairo, GA. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, John William Proctor and James Edward Proctor and her husbands, Henry C. Hooker, Jr. and Harold V. Baggett.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Hooker Forget (Louis) Vero Beach, FL, and step-daughter Lori Foran (Marvin), Cairo, GA, and grandsons Louis Courtney Forget of Vero Beach, FL and Henry Bradford Forget of West Palm Beach, FL and step-grandson Capt. Blake Smith (Ashley) of Crowley, TX and a granddaughter, Anna Forget Babcock (Bryce) Ft. Pierce, FL and step-daughter Blair Wheaton (Chris) of Jefferson, GA. A sister, Linda Proctor Rowell (Bobby) of Perry, GA. A nephew, Shan Russell Venable (Gail) Vidalia, GA. A niece, Barbara Chambers (Royce) Macon, GA.
She was known by family, friends and co-workers as “Gerry” and by her grandchildren. Her great grandchildren, Dane Thomas Babcock, Olivia Grace Forget, and Colton Henry Forget know her as “Great Gigi”.
