I have fond and loving memories of Grace. Her late husband Judge Durward B. Mercer and my late father Judge Tilman E. Self practiced law together for over 30 years. It was my pleasure to practice with my father and Durward for about 6 years. Grace was a loving and devoted wife and mother and sweet and charming lady. She lived a long and good life. May she rest in peace now in the hands of our Father in Heaven.

Mrs. Mercer was one of my favorite patients. Every time I cleaned her teeth, we laughed and enjoyed talking about her granddaughters Laura and Lindsey. She loved them so much. She was so smart and full of conversation. Certainly one of the famous ‘greatest generation’ . I will miss her. God bless all the family. May Mrs. Mercer rest in Christ’s peace! Amen

We were so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I remember your mom and dad living next door to my grandparents, Charlie and Nellie Oney on Virginia Avenue. The three of you were in my wedding in 1961. It was considered bad luck for the bride to walk down the aisle at the rehearsal so Grace stood in for me. She always remembered my grandparents at Christmas even after she moved.
She will be missed. God bless your family at this time.
