Gregory Casper Crittle was born on January 11, 1955, the third of five children, to James and Gladys Crittle in Valdosta, Georgia. He lived in Missouri City, Texas and transitioned on December 5, 2022, in Sugar Land, Texas. A celebration of his life will be held December 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time.
Gregory attended L.H. Williams Elementary School and Central High School in Macon, Georgia. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1979 from Albany State College. Following graduation from Albany State, he was employed at the City of Macon, Middle Georgia Consortium as a Purchasing Agent for 2 years. Upon moving to Houston, Texas in 1981, Gregory became employed at Houston Lighting & Power Company (Later CenterPoint Energy) for 31 years and ultimately achieved the position as a Team Lead in the Meter Reading Department. Gregory was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church where he served with the Brentwood Baptist Church Drill Team for many years. After retirement, Gregory volunteered at Johnson and Johnson Adult Day Care for several years.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father, James D. Crittle, Sr.; his mother Gladys Crittle; his sister Carol McCrea; his brother, James D. Crittle, Jr. and his dog, Oreo Crittle. Gregory leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife and life partner of 42 years, Sherita Marel Jackson Crittle; his son, Devin Gregory Crittle; his daughter, Dr. Chelsea Simone Crittle; his sister, Retha L. Crittle; his brother, Wayne B. Crittle and his wife Yvette; his father-in-law, Jerry L. Jackson and his wife Dorothy; his dog Herschel Crittle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who loved him deeply. Gregory was a good friend to many and developed close lifelong friendships at every point in his life.
