Macon, GA—Mr. Harry Knight, 78, died Thursday, November 7, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 11 at 2 o’clock in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Joe McDaniel will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 until 6 o’clock. The family suggests that those who wish, make memorial contributions to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Knight, son of the late Winton Felix and Esta Hancock Knight, was born in Orlando, FL. He was a graduate of Lanier High School. Mr. Knight was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1963 and went on to work in civil service at RAFB, where he later retired. He was of the Methodist faith and formerly attended Liberty United Methodist Church. Mr. Knight loved golf and was a member of the Senior Golf Association, as well as Bridgewood Golf Club, and Pine Needles Golf Club. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ferrell Edwin Knight.
Surviving Mr. Knight are his sons, Wesley and his wife Penny Knight of Georgia, and Kevin Knight of Colorado; daughter, Lialette and her husband Eric Bullock of New York; his faithful companion of 28 years, Peggy Lipford; and several nieces and nephews.
