One of our beloved neighbors died. Our friend was a teaser. He looked for ways to make you laugh. His wit knew no bounds. He didn't laugh at his jokes, but he would always have a slight grin. Huey and Janice invited us to parties at their home. They treated us like family. Huey was a doer, not a sitter. He helped his neighbors, cut down trees, bush hog, cut their grass. He brought us boiled peanuts, home-made wine. He was one of the kindest men and so very thoughtful. His best friend was Leroy, a steadfast friend. They were like The Odd Couple, Felix and Oscar, who sometimes argued with each other. Yet, we knew they loved one another. My heart goes out to the Reynolds family and Leroy for their loss We have lost our friend and the neighborhood has lost a compassionate, kind man who was always there to help his neighbor. We loved him too.

Huey was more like a brother than an uncle. He was there when Susan learned to walk. He taught us how to ride our bikes; he took us fishing; taught us the best way to wash a car; made milkshakes using his secret recipe ( very secretive about that recipe); took us on adventures in his Jeep ( I was the only one brave enough to stay with him when he went through dangerous territory); floated on the Ocmulgee River with us many times; and, most of all, sang with us. My sweetest memories are of him picking the guitar and Susan, Liz, Lisa, and me singing our hearts out! And Janice was always by his side. If he came to see Mama, and Janice wasn't with him, we were so disappointed! We always think we have plenty of time to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us, but time has a way of running out. Tell your family and friends how important they are to you before our heavenly Father takes them home. I know without a doubt there is one little lady in Heaven today rejoicing that her baby boy is with her again forever! Father, please comfort our family.
