July 5, 1934 - September 12, 2022 - Eternity
Francis Imogene “Jean” (Anderson) Dupree, age 88, in the arms of her two daughters, celebrated her “Great Heavenly Home-Sweet-Home-Going,” at her home in Macon on September 12, 2022, Imogene “Jean” was immediately embraced in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as He told her, “Well Done My Good And Faithful Servant, Enter Into The Joy Of Your Lord!”
Jean was a loving and devoted Mama, Mema, Mother-in-Law, Sister, Sister-in law, Aunt, Wife, Daughter, Friend, and Child of God. Jean was also a brilliant business woman; she was the Branch Manager of Binswanger Glass Company and was employed there for 24 years until her retirement in 1991. Above all else, Jean was a precious Child of God. She was a faithful Christian, who loved the Lord with all of her heart! She not only talked about Him, she lived out her faith every day of her life. Jean was member of Mikado Baptist Church. Over the years she was honored to serve her Lord as Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Senior Adult Ministry Coordinator, and a member of numerous Church committees.
One of Jean’s favorite and most quoted Bible verses was, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 She held on to this verse and trusted God to help her through every decision, circumstance, and trial in her life . . . “step-by-step,” and “one day at a time.” Jean would always say, “God will take care of you!” and “God is good!” She believed it and lived it! And God did, and He still does, today, and He promises to continue to take care of His children for all of our tomorrows to come! Jean lived a life of praising and thanking God - no matter what! You could always hear her say, “Thank you, Jesus, Praise you, Jesus!” Jean’s sweet smile, which illuminated her very being, and her loving and selfless Christian nature were a beautiful reflection of God’s love to everyone. Mama was our inspiration and example and there’s no better way to honor her and glorify the Lord than to continue to live as she lived and taught us to live … to LOVE God with all of our heart, to TRUST God no matter what, and to PRAISE God all the day long!
Jean was born on July 5, 1934 in Cochran Georgia and was the daughter of the late Theo Williams and Emmie (Pritchett) Williams. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie James Anderson (Jean and Jessie were married for 48 years until his death in 2000), and her second husband Harrold Dupree (Jean and Harrold were married for 9 years until his death in 2020); two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Powell, III and Jesse Powell; three brothers, Bennie Ray Williams, Theo Williams, Jr., John Tom (Tommy) Williams, two sisters, Marcia Edwards, and Connie Nelson; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Jean truly loved and cherished her family. Her light, life and legacy continues to live on in the lives of her two daughters, Denise (Alan) Mathis of Waynesville, NC and Darlene Brinn of Macon; her five grandchildren, David (Brittany) Tripp of Maggie Valley, NC, Daniel (Kristen) Tripp of Newport News, VA, Rebecca (Sean) Keene, Bethany (Coty) Collins, and Jeffrey (Kaycee) Powell, Jr, all of Macon; her ten great-grandchildren, Darcy Tripp and Liam Tripp of NC, James Tripp of VA, Hagen Sanford, Hannon Keene, Hadley Keene, Henley Keene, Peyton Collins, Mallorie Collins, and Elizabeth Powell, all of Macon; step-daughter, Debbie Dupree (Kenneth) Kitchens and family of Macon; two sisters, Gloria (Jeremiah) Howell of Cochran and Helen (Don) Newton of Lizella; one brother, Billy (Kathy) Williams of Cochran; sisters-in law, Annette Williams of Cochran and Glenda (Williams) Cheek of Hawkinsville; brother-in-law, Charlie Carl Anderson, Jr. of Kingsport, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will greet friends in the Chapel from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service. Following the Service, Jean’s earthly body will be laid to rest in the Macon Memorial Park until Christ’s return.
The family would like to express their heart-felt love and appreciation to Alesia Stitt for her faithful loving care of their precious Mama for over 16 years. Alesia has been and will always be a special part of our family! We would also like to thank Heart of Georgia Hospice for their wonderful ministry and loving care of Mama.
