

Jack Junior Henderson, age 74, of Macon, Georgia passed away, unexpectedly, at home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, joining his sweet wife of 35 years, Bernadette Byrdsong Henderson, who preceded him in death in January of 2022.
Jack's Life will be Celebrated on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 1 o'clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Family will receive friends for the hour prior to services, and burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jack was born February 3, 1948 in Thomasville, Georgia, to Elizabeth Higdon Henderson Harper and the late Jack Henderson, Sr. As a young man, he was a member of Clifford Temple CME Church in Thomasville, GA . Jack graduated from Douglas High School in 1965, and later enrolled at Albany State College, then went on to earn a degree in Political Science from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. He retired from the United States Air Force after 25 years of service as a Master Sergeant, serving as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1971, with the 341st Supply Squadron and ultimately retiring in 1993. Jack was an employee of the United States Post Office for over 20 years, serving as a mail technician in Hartford, Connecticut and Macon, Georgia, until his civil retirement.
Those left to cherish his memory and carry his legacy are his mother, Elizabeth H. Harper, his son, Dorian Byrdsong and wife Karen; a daughter, Selina Joiner. He leaves behind brothers, Robert Henderson and wife Mamie, and Norman Henderson; and sisters, Sarah Cooney, and Johnnie Charles and husband Jerome. He will be affectionately remembered by his 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; a loving aunt, Gloria Small; and a tremendous host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
