James C. Bowden, 77, returned to the peace of his Father on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Jarrett and Dr. C. Michael Blizzard officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Bowden was born in Hogansville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Chafin, and his brother, Robert Parks Bowden. Mr. Bowden served his country and retired from the United State Navy and was retired from Robins Air Force Base as a computer programmer. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Doris McWilliams Bowden of Centerville, step children; Melanie Bowers of Simsbury, CT, Robert Bowers of Bonaire, GA, Jacqueline Stephens of Milledgeville, GA, five grandchildren; Nadia Stephens, Diana Stephens, Amelia Bowers, Jackson Bowers, and Nathan Bowers, sister, Gaye (Charles) Hattaway of Macon, and brother, David (Betty) Gales of Macon, and several nieces and nephews.
