James Hightower passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Macon, Georgia at the age of 80 and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The memorial and celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Joey Ellis will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Hightower was born on May 10, 1941 to Sullivan and Hazel Hightower. He was an American National Life Insurance managerial retiree and, as a strong man of God, was a member of Stone Edge Church in Macon. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dolores (D.D.) Nipper, Walter Hightower, Durwood Hightower, George (G.W.) Hightower, Jewel Causey, Hilda Purvis, Francis Cauley and Carolyn Fordham.
He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Hightower; daughter, Donna Simmons (Darren Carson); brother, Ronnie Hightower; granddaughters, Brandi Brown (Richard Brown) and Brittany Smith (William Smith); grandson, Nicholas Simmons (Angel Simmons); granddaughter, Kaitlin Simmons (Trevor Warner); as well as eight great grandchildren, Lillian, Ellysa, Ronan, Annalyn, Braylon, Knox, Raven and Belle.
