James Shepard Huling, 73, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at a local hospice facility. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm – 2:00pm, Monday, August 28, 2023, at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park in Macon. Services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nancylee Cater officiating. Interment will be at Macon Memorial Park.
Mr. Huling was born December 15, 1949, in Washington, DC to the late Morris Shepard Huling and Mary Elizabeth Glenn Huling. He was a former bookkeeper and although he never served, was an avid military buff. He could point out the smallest discrepancies in movies concerning any military theme. Mr. Huling was of the Methodist faith, was admired for his knowledge of the Bible and attended vespers at Magnolia Manor every Sunday. He was preceded in death by his brother: Rev. William Michael Huling.
Mr. Huling is survived by his siblings: Morris Glenn Huling (Kyle), John Patrick Huling (Ruth) and Susan Wiley (Jeff); sister-in-law: Melinda Huling; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
