James "Jimmy" Calloway Partain, 87, of Byron, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Snow's at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will follow at 3:00 pm, graveside at Macon Memorial Park.
Mr. Partain was born October 20, 1937, in Yatesville, Georgia to the late Trevor Calloway Partain and Allie Ruth Hartley Partain. He came to Macon in 1955 and became an active community volunteer, offering his time and assistance to various outreach organizations, including Kids Yule Love. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macon and was a retired mechanic for the City of Macon. Mr. Partain was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Peoples Partain and a grandson: Benjamin Rykard.
Mr. Partain is survived by his children: Mary H. Rykard, Charles Henry Partain (Denise) and Ruth Patten; grandchildren: Thomas Bowman, Glenn Rykard, Amanda Rykard, Jessica Carter, Trevor Partain, Taylor Partain, Mason Patten and Macy Patten; Twelve great-grandchildren; Two great-great-grandchildren and his brothers: John Oliver Partain and Larry Partain.
