James D. Proctor

Macon- James Donald (Don) Proctor, 68, of Macon passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in a local hospital. Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 at 4:30 PM in the Chapel at Macon Memorial Park. The Reverends Bill Lambert and Bartley Freeman will officiate. In Lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 319 Margie Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088-7818.

Mr. Proctor was born in Macon to the late Edith McCants Proctor and Arthur L. Proctor. He was retired from Yellow Cab Company where he worked as a driver. He was the former owner of Gray Cab Company and had worked at the Brunswick News. He attended Abundant Life Church.

Mr. Proctor is survived by his wife: Ruth Sanders Proctor of Macon; Children: Donald Gene Proctor of Macon, Eleanor Jane Clark of Jones County, James Pent Johnson of Macon, Jimmy Proctor of Gray, Teresa Proctor of Warner Robins; Step-children: Karen Babb and David Smith both of Milledgeville and Pam Smith of Byron; Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Extended family: Brooks family of Ivey, Cane family of Brunswick, and Bobinger family of Mississippi, Sister: Jane Mailhos of Brunswick. He was preceded in death by a son: David, Brother: Larry and Sisters: Betty and Eleanor.
