Mrs. Elise, I am so sorry to hear about your husband. We have been praying for you and thinking about you. Ms. Elise, You are truly Blessed among women.  Everyone knows how much you and Mr. James loved each other; and what a Holy Example he set for everyone.  Everyone that knew Mr. James could clearly see Jesus in him because he lived God's Word. I am so sorry to hear about James' passing.  I have known James since the 1940's when we used to ride our bikes to clean the West Macon Baptist Church on Saturday mornings.  He was a fine young Christian man.  I don't know if you remember me Elise, but I have taken James to see you in East Macon when you were courting.  He will be missed.

Captian Stevens was one of the finest men and Firefighters that I ever worked with. He was a voice of calm reason and steadfast commitment to any task at hand. I truly came to love and admire him on so many levels of his personal and professional life. This wonderful Family has always been such a blessing to me and my family many times over the years as we shared good times together especially at the Retirees Christmas Luncheon every year. My heartfelt condolences to all and may God Bless each with fond and loving memories of this wonderful Christian man who loved his Family and friends so much.

What else is there to be said about such a fine Christian man!! During the 25+ years I have known Mr. James & Ms. Elise, they have been 2 of the sweetest people I have EVER known.  Such a sweet & genuine couple. My prayers are lifted for Ms. Elise and the entire Stevens Family in their great physical loss.  Heaven is now blessed to have such a man walking those streets of gold.

Dear Mrs. Elise.  I am so very sorry for your great loss.  You and Mr. James was two very special people.  I still to this day remember the advise you gave me when we worked together.  My late parents, Frank & Ophelia Parks thought the world of you.  You were long time friends & family  I am sorry I can't be there today but know my heart and Prayers are with you.
