A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Dr. Brad Marchman officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was born in South Georgia the son of late Hal Martin and Marie Reynolds on May 26, 1939. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sherrill Ann Martin, as well as his brothers, Jimmy and Ronnie Hammond. Jerry was a welder by trade, and a member of the Iron Worker Local Union 387 since 1982.
Jerry liked to fish and ride motorcycles but in his spare time his favorite hobby was building 3 wheeler trikes. He was a man of many skills. Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Elizabeth Eddy Griggers, and John W. Eddy, Jr. (Cindy); grandchildren, Nicholas Eddy, and Whitney Rowland (Luke); great-grandchildren, Peyton Eddy, Everly Rowland, and Elle Rowland; siblings, Faye Baker (John), Steve Hammond (Kim), and Angie Clark (Dean).
