Jerry Hugh Neisler

Jerry Hugh Neisler, 57, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday March 12, 2015, at 12:30 PM in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Melton Strozier officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 11:00 AM until service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. He was the oldest of five sons, of Joan Simmons Neisler and the late Retired General Hugh Lee Neisler. Jerry was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He also went on to start up two hydro plants for the Georgia Power Company. Jerry was brilliant, generous and a loving son and brother. He once wrote to the Mensa Society correcting a mistake they had made. Mensa replied with an invitation to their elite society. He was as generous as he was smart. When his younger brother needed a loan to start his business, Jerry, without question or hesitation, gladly loaned the money. Jerry was also adventurous and lots of fun. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed and mastered water skiing, hang gliding, snow skiing, weight lifting, track and most of all, playing hearts with his family! He was also an avid pilot and enjoyed taking friends and family for a ride. Jerry's amazing resolve and faith in God in the face of life's challenges is an inspiration to everyone who was lucky enough to know him. Survivors include his mother, Joan Simmons Neisler: four brothers, John Neisler (Robin), Jeff Neisler (Elizabeth) and Joe Neisler, all of Macon and Jason Neisler (Kim) of Atlanta; four nieces, Rhama, Rebecca, Mary Elizabeth and Caroline Grace Neisler.
