Please consider a donation to the Sanctuary Fund, Wesley UMC, 4256 Hartley Bridge Rd., Macon, GA 31216.
Judy will be remembered for her quiet loving personality, her love for her family, love for her church and her favorite activity- quilting.
Judy was born on January 3, 1930, in Vidalia, Georgia, to Fred and Ethel Johnson. She was a mother, a homemaker, a dedicated PTA member for John W. Burke School, her children’s biggest fan and her husband’s biggest helper.
She was a dedicated and long time member of Second St. Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church. Her church life included being a Sunday School teacher, VBS worker, and a member of the Women of Wesley Bible Study Group (playfully dubbed “the Wednesday Morning Poker Game” by her son). Her time at Wesley was filled with tasks such as cake cutter for the annual Buffalo Throw, decorator of many Chrismon Trees and arranging flowers on the traditional Easter cross. Judy was also a member of the Methodist Home Auxiliary, where she spent many a Celebration Day assisting in the craft booth and donating beautifully handcrafted quilts for the auction fundraiser, often bringing in over a $1000 in donations.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy “Bo” Holloway; her handsome and talented son, Brad Holloway; sister, Ruth Parsons; nephews, Chris Parsons and Jason McGoldrick.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Tracey Holloway Cole and Mary Cara Holloway, of Macon; cousins/”daughters”, Dale McGoldrick of Macon and Toni Vaughn of Thomasville; much loved adopted daughter, Susan Doreen Hansard; brother and sister in law, Jerry and Audrey Holloway; nieces, nephews, their spouses and children.
Mary and Tracey would especially like to thank Toni and Dale for their love and guidance and many years of shared family memories of Judy and Jimmy and the magnolia tree at 838.
