Jimmy M. Hendrix Sr., 77, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023. A Celebration of Life with full military honors will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clay Bowden and Joey Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until service time. Entombment will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mr. Hendrix was born in Eastman, Georgia to General Jackson and Ethel Smith Hendrix. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and looked forward to going every chance he got. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, JoAnn Cobb Hendrix; daughter, Deanna Thompson (Darian); son, Jimmy M. Hendrix Jr.; adopted daughter, Jackie Plotner (Brian); granddaughter, Avree Dean (Chandler); sisters, Barbara Coggins (David), Velma Morris, Patricia Widener; brother, Joel Hendrix (Bobbie Jo); several brothers-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his four legged friend, Lucy.
