

Joe L. Sineath, 86, passed away on December 7, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, he would love donations to be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204.
Mr. Sineath was born in Allendale, South Carolina on July 25, 1928 to the late Hart and Ruth Sineath. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 58 years, Loraina T. Sineath in March of this year. Also, by his brothers, H.R. Sineath of Savannah, GA, Jack N. Sineath of Vidalia, GA and sister, Geraldine Lewis of Allendale, South Carolina.
He was a new member of Riverside United Methodist Church which was a real blessing to him.
After growing up in Allendale, South Carolina he enlisted in the United States Navy where he would become a USN Gunners Mate during World War II in the Pacific. He was a very proud veteran. He started his business career in the world of finance and worked for many years for CIT in the South Region. He ended up in Macon, where he retired after 20 years with the Georgia Farm Bureau, where he always said “Those were some of the best years of his life”. After retiring, he then went back to work at Jay Auto Group in Columbus, GA where he said “he just had a ball”.
He was a Mason and also Charter Member of the North Macon Exchange Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie S. (Bob) Malone of Macon, grandchild, Michael J. “Skeet” Powell, Jr. of High Point, NC, sister, Betty Rhodes of TX, three step grandchildren, Melissa M. Constable of Polly’s Island, S.C., Robin M. (Hutch) Hutchinson of Byron, Robert (Jessica) Malone, IV of Macon, six great grandchildren, Skylar, Sydney, Sophie, Cassie, Colby, and Connor, brother-in-law, Bobby (Jackie) Tharpe, nephews, Bart (Debra) Tharpe and Scott (Elisha) Tharpe and several great nieces and nephews, Sandy “Red” (Tom) Thomas his adopted daughter by heart, Mary Clowers and Renee Truitt who loved and cared for him so much as we did.
The family would also like to thank the many caregivers from Optimum Palliative and Hospice Care who took such good care of him and he knew how much
you all cared.
