John R. “Bobby” Flanders, 65, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will meet friends on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, M#20, Atlanta GA 30326.
Mr. Flanders was born in Macon, Georgia to the late John Fred Flanders. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Flanders was retired from Bellsouth Communications. Bobby was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Kay C. Flanders of Macon, mother, Emily Flanders of Chauncey, daughter, Gabrielle Flanders of Atlanta, step children, Luke Rozier (fiancé Casey Dobbs) Brunswick, Logan Rozier (Chadd Bickleman) of Macon, GA, Landon Rozier of Valdosta, grandchildren, Kaylan Rozier and Scarlett Rozier, sister, Donna (Bill) Tomerlin of Chauncey, brothers, Mike Flanders of Chauncey, Wayne (Wanda) Flanders of Macon, brother-in-law, Ray (Barbara) Coats of Tallahassee, FL and sister-in-law, Cynthia Coats of Valdosta, and several nieces and nephews.
