John Malcolm Cosey Sr., 78, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Cile Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Malcolm was born on July 14, 1938 to the late J.P. and Margaret Bowers Cosey and was preceded in death by his wife, Zerelda Sprayberry Cosey. He was a truck driver for over 35 years and was retired from Old Dominion Freight Lines. Malcolm was a member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping with his family and spending time with his friends over breakfast at McDonald’s. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his children, Deborah Cosey Albert, Lisa Cosey and John M. Cosey, Jr. (Karen); grandchildren, Hannah Albert, Amber Turner (Ryan), Austin Davis, Andrew Cosey and Ethan Cosey; great grandson, Sawyer A. Albert; sisters, Gwendolyn Barron and Lawana Combes; sister-in-law, Pamela S. Smith (Roger); and several nieces and nephews.
