MACON- JOHN THOMAS POLLARD, 93, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, October 21, 2012 in the chapel at Macon Memorial Park with interment in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Jimmy Corbitt will officiate. The Family will greet friends from 2:00 till service time at the funeral home. Mr. Pollard was born in Milan, Georgia to the late Annie Mae Cravey Pollard and Esper Pollard. He was retired from Barney A. Smith, where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and attended Bethany Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.
Mr. Pollard is survived by his wife: Margaret Pollard; daughters: Linda Sue (George) Payne and Helen Marie (Emilio R.) Suarez; son: Thomas (Bonnie Jean) Pollard; step-daughter: Faye Harris; step-son: M.S. Reynolds; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sister: Jimmy Dowdy and brother: Vivian Pollard. Special friends: Ruth Yarborough, Jean Boyd, Sue Wood and Rita Prevette.
