

Joseph Clayton Simpson, Sr. 58, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital after an extended illness. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Pickard and Albert Jones officiating. The family will greet friends at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Piedmont Hospital, Liver Transplant Department or ICU Green Unit, 1968 Peachtree Road, Atlanta GA 30309.
Mr. Simpson was born in Macon, Georgia to the late William Albert Simpson, III. He was a member of Mosleyville Baptist Church in Milledgeville, and was employed by Vought Aircraft as an aircraft engineer. He worked for twenty five years with Macon Linen Company. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid golfer and Georgia Tech fan. He was a devoted and loving husband, son, father, grandpa and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Simpson of Ivey, mother, Betty Jo Simpson of Macon, two sons, J.C. Simpson, Jr. (Laura) of Milledgeville, Jessie Simpson (Paula) of Milledgeville, two grandsons, Jackson Carter Simpson and Clayton Paul Simpson, two brothers, William Simpson (Lucinda) of Gray, and Daniel Simpson (Cyndi) of Ivey, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
